Ok well i can see your point of view but there are a lot of factors that could have affected your decision on the matter. Did your friends monitor support a high enough resolution to be able to experience the better than HD quality available from many modern 22" + Monitors. Also were the ati graphics cards any good?! if we are talking about a pair of 512mb cards that are running SLI to be honest it wont make all that much difference! Unless he spent upwards of £300 on the GTX 295, GTX 285 or HD 4870 x2 then the graphics wont be any better than that of the xbox or playstation 3, the fact of the matter is that unless you are willing to spend mega amounts of money a PC cannot stand up against the xbox... and why? well the fact is that the xbox graphics chipset is purely for games and the xbox dashboard. Your average 512mb graphics card on a PC obviously has to deal with sharing the memory for other programmes and applications. I agree that first person shooters should be left in the realms of PC gaming and that although i prefer PC gaming, console gaming is still fun for beat em ups and games like guitar hero. I just cannot accept that a console will in any way be able to beat the performance and graphical prowess of that ultimate gaming rig...

overall i have to say your point is valid to a degree, obviously down to budget constraints the graphics provided by xbox for just £150 is pretty amazing. But for those willing to spend a lot more get a lot more in return.

and on a personal note i havnt been able to fill your characters full of holes on a decent PC game title for a while... when u gonna get left 4 dead on PC? we need some teamwork ownage

im going to have to Dissagree with you there and heres why.

yes ill agree that you can buy the top of the range Gfxs cards Add more ram ecta and make Games look amazing, but my house mate has recently baught 2 new ati gfx cards and i have seen him play Cod WAW full spec and it looks amazing.
i wanted to see what it would be like on the Xbox 360 so i borrowd a copy and i was stunned... the fact that the xbox 360 console is still useing the same gfx card ram and processor. the Xbox console was released in 2005 4 years ago and yet the Display of Graphics is still outstanding today you look at the Pc hardware 4 years ago they were no where near the level the xbox is today.

but i will say this in the next few months with the new release of Better graphic cards the pc will over take the Xbox 360 and in some games it already has, but when the next Xbox is released it will be another 4 years before the pc can catch up

End of the Day consoles in a whole are best designed for Beatem ups , hack and slash games, and raceing but for first person shooters i would leave that to the pc.
Pete is right on about the Precisson Needed in Fps should be done with a Mouse and keybord but thats about it in my opnion.

end of the Day , if you was to have amazing looking Graphics in your games buy a Xbox 360 but if your that hard core Gamer that loves nothing more than Drilling your enemys full of Bullet holes Get a pc.

Well my opinion on the matter is that pc gaming blows console gaming out of the water...

i can understand peoples opinion when they say that with console gaming everyone is equal, and when playing on xbox live you have to be skilled to gain an advantage over your opponents. However, i can buy my advantage with pc gaming and using a keyboard and mouse is a lot more precisise than a joypad!
